Auditing Integrated Management Systems Workshop
Summary
This interactive workshop covers all aspects of auditing an integrated system. Attendees at this auditing workshop will learn about the differences they can expect to find in the documentation and implementation of integrated management systems as well as techniques to help them audit integrated systems. Whether dealing with a system that integrates two or more of these systems, this course will help auditors better understand the system and be more efficient in their audits.
This course can also be taught in conjunction with training in a specific standard(s) including ISO:9001, ISO:14001, QC 080000, or OHSAS:180001, and is perfect for those looking to gain both an understanding of each of the standards and the differences that exist between independent and integrated management systems. Please note that this is not an ‘understanding’ course; that is also available – just contact us for specific information.

Course Materials
Course material includes fully annotated presentation material, to allow the attendees to focus on what is being taught rather than on taking ‘good notes’. If the course is being taught in conjunction with training on a specific standard(s) then a licensed copy of the relevant standard(s) will also be provided, so that each attendee can annotate their standard as the course progresses.
Workshop Methods
In addition to ‘classroom instruction’, the course relies heavily on examples from industry that the class is asked to discuss and make determinations on. Our instructors are external (registrar) auditors, Plexus certified instructors, and they draw on their deep and varied experiences to provide many real-life examples of both effective and ineffective auditing techniques. They have audited and implemented fully integrated management systems as well as traditional QMS, EMS, RoHS/WEEE, and OHS systems and are intimately familiar with the differences and difficulties encountered in auditing an integrated system.
Finally, attendees are given examples to judge themselves. Each attendee is walked through an audit of an integrated system and asked to determine what standard(s) are being examined, and whether the scenario conforms to the specific elements of those standards. Previous course attendees have stated that this exercise was the single most useful portion in the course to help them increase their understanding of integrated systems and how to approach an integrated system audit.
