Training Summary

Business Process Mapping and Improvement will teach you how to define and understand your processes, establish a baseline, and improve your processes to save money and increase your profits. This intensive three-part class will walk you through defining your business processes, process mapping, process improvement activities, establishing process metrics, and putting it all together using a continual improvement model.

This on-site course will be tailored to your organization’s needs with exercises focused on manufacturing, service, design & development, and voice of the customer.

Who Should Attend

This class is for any group in an organization that needs to improve efficiency, whether it’s production, engineering, or support groups (such as accounting, call centers, sales, or facilities services). Classes comprised of existing teams have the highest results, but all will benefit from this eye-opening course.

Business Process Mapping and Improvement is offered in-house (maximum class size - 20), and is just as effective for improving established processes and for processes that are just being defined.

Part I: Classroom Instruction

Voice of the Customer (QFD) to determine customer wants and needs and make decisions when these wants and needs are in conflict;

     Process Mapping to understand all the steps in the process as a prelude to improvement;

     Metrics for all process steps; and

     Improvement without Reengineering.

Part II: Organizational Simulation for several rounds

Members of the class will be assigned various roles (manufacturing, design/development, sales, and customers)

Process improvements are done after certain rounds, to allow for cycles of learning in a fun and safe environment

Part III: On-Site Consultation

Approximately 4-6 weeks after you have completed the course, your consultant will visit your organization to help you overcome any hurdles you face, answer any questions, and ensure you are on the right track. If needed, we will help you through a mock executive review to ensure a flawless presentation of your new continual process improvement plan.
